In 1969, Laurent and Marcelle Meury opened their doors for business. Since the very beginning, they gave top priority to their ever-evolving business model. It all started with a car wash and gas bar. Later, they added a fruit and vegetable stand, and homemade pies and cakes prepared by Marcelle. Since the early days when the homemade preparations began, some things have not changed: high-quality ingredients are invariably used; the job is always well done; and the products are known for their consistency and generous portions.
La Petite Grange, as it is known today, began to take shape in the eighties with the construction of a new building that now houses the artisan bakery, fine pastry shop, chocolate factory and Chocolate Interpretation Centre. Throughout the years, several other products have been added to the product range: salads, a sandwich counter, a variety of different soups and ready-to-go meals. Moreover, Quebec cheeses and our homemade cooked meats are very popular. The terrace and dining room are particularly inviting; furthermore, they lend themselves perfectly to woo clients to drink coffee or milk and eat a croissant. Likewise, you will discover our shop filled with both Quebec terroir and imported products, which we use to make gift baskets for our corporate customers as well as other customers.
Their son and daughter, François and Ann respectively, are also part of this great team and represent the aspiring young generation. François followed in Marcelle’s steps and has become Head Baker and Pastry Chef. Ann manages the general administration and salesroom just like Laurent did over the last forty years. Every year, the family introduces innovative changes to the presentation and brings something new to their customers. Members of the Meury family are constantly endeavouring to strive for excellence and exceed their own limitations. You can both see and taste it!
